Essential to the construction of a chain link fence, these 2-1/2" Galvanized Steel Tension Bands are attached to terminal fence posts (end posts, corner posts, gate posts, etc.) and used in combination with tension bars (sold separately) to secure the chain link fabric to your fence and stretch it so that your fence is tense and strong.

Attach the steel tension bands by sliding them down over and down the terminal posts following installation. Space the tension bands apart evenly before sliding 5/16" x 1-1/4" bolts (sold separately) through the tangs and tightening. These bands are made of galvanized steel, which makes them resistant to rust and corrosion, adding to the lifespan of your chain link fence. These bands can be used for gate frames and come in packs of 20.

  • Galvanized; rust resistant
  • Nuts and bolts not included
  • For 2-1/2” diameter posts
  • Can be used for gate frames
  • Comes in black, item #10406B

How the part fits? 2-1/2” tension band is designed to fit around a 2-1/2” terminal post.

Where is it installed? 2-1/2” tension band is installed by sliding over the 2-1/2” terminal post once the post is set. Tension bands will be evenly placed on each terminal post.

How many do you need? You will need 2-1/2” tension bands for every stretch of fence. The amount of tension bands you will need per terminal post is 1 less than the height of the fence. For example, if you have a 4’ fence you will need (3) 2-1/2” Tension Bands per terminal post. There are two exceptions, if you have a 3’ or 3-1/2’ fence, you will need (3) 2-1/2” tension bands. For a full stretch of fence from terminal post to terminal post, you will need double the amount. Ex: For a stretch 4’ fence you will need (6) total 2-1/2” tension bands.

2-1/2" post size, .28lbs
